I hope an upgraded rear output shaft is on your list!

So where do you get those heavy duty detent springs? I need them for mine... popping out of gear too often.

No, upgrade on the rear output shaft. My build is primarily a street rig. Call Jack O'bien. He sounds like a Dana 20 gruru.
Call Jack O'Brien at

O'Briens 4 Wheel West
1302 Hidden Ct
Roseville, CA
95661-5882
Phone: (916) 773-3278

He has Heavy Duty and Super Duty detent springs for the Dana 20.

With some of the experts (Viperwolf)here it has been easier than I anticipated.
The most difficult thing so far was the allen head set screw on the shift fork. Once heated though I could break them lose. I found replacement ones, bought a box of 50. Make sure you pay atttention to te direction you press the idler shaft out, it is directional. The J shift only has one detent rod. Take plenty of pictures.
