Curious what everyone uses to clean up parts prior to painting when they can? Any special concoctions you recommend? Pressure Wash? Etc?

Have to wash a bell housing with NV3550 a transfer case and an Engine that will be ready to go in but could use a coat of paint prior to stuffing it in there. Engine has Water Pump, Timing Chain Cover, Heads, intake all installed. Any tips?

Thanks!

So, simple green go to cleaner, relatively safe. After that, lacquer thinner or acetone then a shot of paint prep right before painting. This is not what I do to body parts, just engine or driveline.

I use the HD foaming oven cleaner on grease-covered parts.
