Passenger floor grooves

I've got the Jeff's passenger floor pan and it's looking like the grooves aren't gonna line up. The new pan can/should go to the outside about another 3/16" but it still won't be enough. Any past experience and suggestions dealing with this? Off the top of my head, I'm thinking flatten out both sides at the joint area but I've got a couple of weeks before I can get back to it. Also thinking of rolling that outside upper flange straight down to match original.

Butted mine up to the kickpanel, which put the grooves closest to fitting. Pull grooves in with screws, tack in place. Reform tunnel end with hammer.

I'll give that a try first. Gonna be some hammer work any way you go.

I've got the driver's side pan from Tom's and haven't given it a serious look yet.

The pans I recieved from Jeff's extend an inch or so past the grooves so I just cut them out and am about to weld in the new pans.
