First ,I am new to this site so hello! I have spent most of the day reading treads on lift kits (and I think I could spend at least another day, wow!) and I’m still undecided. I know I’m a pain in the ass but this will help me out in deciding what size lift to go with. I’m thinking either a 2.5” or 3.5”, it will spend most of its time on-road with an occasional off-road excursion. I’m not asking what lift to go with just pic’s and a little info, brand and size of lift (body or suspension) and tire size. I’m trying to get an idea of what its going to look like because I’m going for looks but still would like it to have good road manners and not be a pain to get in and out of. Not sure on tire size yet but thinking 31’s or 33’s. I’m in the middle of doing a little work to it so now is the time to do the suspension. What I do know is that I will be going with B.C. 9 leaf rear spring, not sure what I’m doing with the front (progressive or linear). Thanks!

Welcome to the site, great to have you aboard.

I would say 3.5 lift is a happy medium

I wasn't sure what kind of picture you were looking for so I tried to upload a variety. one is a pic of the family standing by it. I'm just over six feet tall just to give you an idea of the height. I have a 3.5" suspention and 2" body lift. 35" tires. front coils are Cage offroad and rear leafs are a very old, needing to be replaced, set of K Bar S springs. Hope this helps.

The BL will make some things alot easier to do : Tranny swaps , fitting different airfilters .....

Mine has a 2.5" lift with 33's - I like the low slung look it has , like some of the Baja racers.
Note it has shaved rockers also , that will change the look.

Wild Horse's catalog has a full color section on all lift/tire size combinations. Excellent reference for what you are trying to accomplish. I recommend getting your hands on their catalog- it is free.

Thanks for your input guys, and I'll get WH catalog coming! I'm going to be pulling the frame out to get it painted and going to be replacing the body mounts so I consider a 1" BL when it goes back together.

Lift & Tires

WH 2.5" Suspension, 1" body, and 33x12.5 on 15" rims. Very drivable - and just fits into my garage. Another .5" taller and I would hit.

I agree with those who say if you stay with 31's or 33's to stayy with a 2.5 inch lift.

If 31's just the suspension lift. if you go with 33's do a 1 inch body lift as well.

The 2.5 inch lift will allow you to get your castor back to factory specs with a set of C bushings, and give you the best street manors. Also by going with 2.5 lift, and a 1 inch body lift it will keep the center of gravity lower than a 3.5 inch lift.

I would go with 3 1/2 lift and 2 inch body lift, 35" tires.

Ditto
2.5in lifts also tend to require need less mods and develop less handling issues. once you step up to 3.5in its hit or miss some people needed no mods others need longer driveshafts and have alginment/handling issues.
If all the fenders are cut and you dont plan on offroading 33's will fit with stock suspension. But I think a 2.5in is about perfect for 33's. If you run 31's I think it looks a little funny to much space between the tire and fenderwells.
I run BC's 2.5in 12 leaf setup its pretty good both on and offroad. I also run 33in tires. I'd like to try out BC 9 leaf springs.
