Pismo Beach!

I got invited to go camp at pismo beach this weekend. I figured it would be a good first outing for my Bronco and man was it a blast. I went with the UCSB kiteboarding club and met up with a bunch of different clubs from USC and San Luis Obisbo. I am without a front driveshaft or roll cage so the fun was a bit restricted but I made due. Hit a couple jumps, went through a few water crossings, and went into the waves a couple times. completely sheared my driver side front shock off and had a few issues with the starter solenoid wiring but other then that it was great. Everybody loved the bronco, i even caught a few girls sneaking into the drivers seat to take pictures. Hopefully the pictures work but if not i can send them to a willing contributor to post.
Cheers!

That's a great beach, and I've driven on it several times over the years. The best part is taking photos (as you've done) and sharing them with people. The common reaction is "You can drive on the SAND?"

One bonus is that there's a coin-op car wash right near the south end so you can wash any salt off the chassis after you're done.

Nice pics, been there, done that. You need to spend extra time getting that salty sand washed off the undercarriage. If you let that wet sand lay on top,and stuck to everything, the rust will eat everything. If you can find a big freah water puddle drive thru it many times to rinse the salt and sand away. As much fun as the beach is the salt in the sand will haunt you forever.
Get that front driveshaft in and get a dune flag, and have fun!!

Oh Nooo! You drove in the waves? Pismo is a lot of fun. Get yourself a roll bar and a front drive shaft, so you don't have to drive around in the ocean to have a good time. :) Great pics, thanks for sharing.

Nice rig. Looks fun. How'd you shear the front shock?

I hit a couple small sharp hills pretty hard, that was my best guess on when it happened.

I definitely spent a long time cleaning everything out when I got home. Rinsed the chassis, bagged the seats and rinsed out the interior, and also the engine compartment. I will probably do another round or two of rinsing between classes sometime this week.

Looks like an awesome day JJ wish we could have been down there with you. I showed your Aunt the pics and she loved them too. Wish we had that kind of weather up here though. It's pretty cool you can ride the piss out of a bronco even when it's missing half of it's parts and it will still get you home.;D

Shocked there's a beach you can drive on in Commiefornia!

Oh don't worry, there's plenty of people trying to shut it down currently. Fact is, it makes waaayyyy to much money for the state to justify them doing so.
