I've been sitting on these a couple weeks, just haven't had the time to sort through the chaff, throw a few edits on the leftovers. Anyhow here are some pix from one of the runs I led, this one being Sidewinder on Friday during the Big Bear Bronco Bash. Oh and yeah I get a complaint now and then that my edits are a bit too heavy on the HDR toning and vignetting. Maybe so, its a phase I'm going through LOL...

Oh and sorry about so many pix of Coco driven by my wife. But hey its my camera, I tend to shoot my own shit more than the others

Checked out this old homestead after running Sidewinder...

I'll post a few pix from our John Bull run on Saturday during BBBBXIV, when I get a chance.

Great pics! The old homesteads are bad ass for sure. How they got the material up there back then must have been something else. Lots of work!

Looks great to me. Maybe a little heavy on the editing, but they're not my pictures. :)
Reading the title and it's implication for next year made me realize that I should book a room for next year, now.

It's gone now, but there used to be a steam bucket in a side canyon off Last Chance Canyon. How it got there must have been time consuming considering that it was many miles from the railroad, and the Trona RR didn't exist at the time it was brought in. So it came from Mojave! How they (Red Rock S.P. no doubt) got it out of there must have been even more amazing.

One of these years I'll get there.

Next year will be our 15th annual. Weekend before Father's Day. Try to make it if you can!

That's Sabas Vargas' Bronco. I believe he's on here, handle is Sabas. If I recall correctly he got those fenders and hood from Bronco Works out of Las Vegas.

Matt I think you could, and I'd be happy to go with you. During an event like this we discourage it, simply because we don't want to hold up a large group because of one guy on small tires. But if its just a couple of us and our goal is to see whether it can be done, I'd love to try it with you. I've gone through that trail in 40 minutes, and I've also spent 10 hours on it. Both were a blast.

Love those old buildings. The history and people that lived there would be a hoot to read about. I know there were a few sets where filming was done in that area during the 50's and 60's, maybe earlier.

I dunno if this particular homestead was ever a movie set but they did shoot in Pioneertown, which is very close to there.

OH? Ohio? Seriously, with Joshua trees and rocky canyons? :)

Yeah sometimes I find it amazing how they got some of the stuff where they got it to. Like the Pontiac on Heartbreak Ridge. Sometimes it just takes realizing that when those were mining roads they were maintained better, and were much more road like than they are today. But sometimes you see stuff and where they got it too, its just baffling.

Yeah try to make it next year for BBBBXV. You're on the short list of OG's that were at BBBBI ;D

Matt,
Dusty is correct, I got the fiberglass fenders and hood from Bronco works out of Vegas. I took a Drexel and opened the vents up.

Yep I like those vents! They truly make sense being right there! I have been having OH problems I slow trails only in the summer. I have done everything imaginable, even cutting my inner fenders to try and cool my rig down on the trails when the outside temps go above 70 and we are crawling!
I just purchased a trans cooing fan set-up which is going on this week! I'm hoping this is the correct "chill pill"....if not I'm just going to throw my hood away! Haaa!
Anyhow I like the looks of the fender flutes!
