play in stainless steel door hinges

Hi,

I decided to replace my hinges with some removable stainless hinges. Years ago I replaced my driver hinge due to play in the hinge. I recented had my truck painted and then afterwards discovered that my passenger hinge had play in it. I should have just replaced it when I did the driver hinge. I figured I would just replace them both now with stainless hinges so I wouldn't have to paint them. I just recieved my stainless hinges and they have just as much play as the one I want to replace. I thought it would be nice to be able to remove my doors, but truthfully, I don't really care about that.

It seems that all the stainless hinges are made by Drake, so getting a different set from a different vendor won't help. I've read posts about some people replacing the bushings in the stainless hinges, but I don't know if that will totally solve the problem.

I could go with the Duff hinges which people seem to say have less play, but I would still paint them. I guess at this point, I should just replace my passenger hinge with a non removable hinge and paint it.

Any other ideas out there? Thanks
