I'm getting ready to take the body off the frame, have the frame blasted, and then coat it w/ por 15 and install my James Duff 3.5" Monster kit.. How much of the por 15 do i need to purchase for the frame only? Quart/gallon, etc?? Just curious how much i need to do the frame only... and if i like it enough, i may buy some more to coat the bottom side of the bronco's body later on.. Thanks guys..

I think a quart is enough, but if you're like me (Mr. Goopy) then I'd get 2 quarts to be on the safe side.

I used about 1.5 quarts for the whole frame.

I ended up using 5 quarts for the frame, underneath of the whole body, both axles, and driveshafts.

Hope this helps.

Buy it by the quart since it's a PITA to work with once you open your can and try to re-seal it.

For the frame, I'd guess 2 quarts and that doesn't cover the inside of the frame. Which would still be subject to rusting out.

I used a full quart just doing my inside tub of my Bronco.

Por-15

Shop tip:

When I open a qt of POR-15, I then reseal the can in a larger tubberware type container. Just place the qt can inside it. It's air tight and easy to use. Works so far.

That's a good tip. Probably keeps your garage fridge from smelling like POR15 for a year after you take it out too. :D
