Predator carb for rock climbing?

Has any one tried the Predator carb in offroad situations? My Eldebrock carb will shut off when I really need it. When climbing rocks with the front of the truck in a severe upward angle, it will just shut off. I know Holley makes a good off-road carb. But I have a old Predator that I am thinking about rebuilding. It would be cheaper for me to try the Predator, if it will work. The Predator web site says it is a great off-road carb. But of course they would say that. So any input would be appreciated.

That is a good question... I han't thought about it. One thing I remember about a predator is they don't have an idle circuit...well the true drag race carbs didn't anyway form what I remember...

But I don't see why one wouldn't work..

they used to use them on monster trucks and they bounced all over the place and never stumbled.

I thought about the predator for my 72. They did run em on the monster trucks. You can also get a street version with an idle circuit. It was just too cheap and easy to throw on a q-jet.
