I am planning on putting Upol Raptor bedliner on the underside of my rig as well as in the interior.

I am wondering if I should strip/primer/bedliner or just strip/bedliner.

The primer I am using is PPG DP90. Any suggestions are welcome...

Thanks!

I just did the underside of my tub with SEM tintable. I sanded any loose paint, removed any rust at the same time. Scuffed the entire underside, and then vigorously degreased and prepped the underside. Then primer, then bedlner over the top.
So far so good, but only time will tell how durable it is.

I'm not sure about the Upol liner, but I know the spray on stuff does not stick well to bare metal, so primer would definitely be a good idea.

Cool deal, looks like the DP90 Epoxy primer is what's gonna happen then, unless someone that has used the Upol bedliner chimes in differently!

i see no reason not to. it's easier to get everything covered with a nice small gun and be sure all the nooks & crannies are sealed so in the event you miss anything with the liner it's covered up.

Give the DP90 enough time to cure well. The liner will trap solvents and may cause you some adhesion problems. Also don't park your truck in direct sunlight with the DP90, it's photodegradable. Ask me how I know.%)

As part of my business, I spray bedliners. On any bare metal, I use a good self-etching primer. once the primer is dry, scuff the primer. When I first started spraying the liner, I did two trucks and then told the owners to beat them up as much as possible. I always cover bare metal and I have yet to have any complaints.
