Hello all. I just wanted to share this-
I bought my Bronco and it came with mismatched seats. I had a Fiero seat on the driver's side, and a cloth Recaro on the passenger side; from a distance they looked similar... once you looked at them you'd realize they were different, cheap seats.
I wanted to upgrade, and not go back to the stock, low back seats... but I didn't like all of the Recaro seats everyone else seems to have in these trucks.
I work at a Ford dealer and remembered Mustang seats in 2011-3013 having a premium interior that had a thing white pinstripe down the center. Thought it might match pretty well to my color scheme )(blue with a white top/fender flares)
Found a set of seat takeoffs on craigslist after searching for a couple months. Removed all the factory seat brackets and tracks from the Mustang seats, as they were much too tall to be able to see clearly in the windshield, and ordered Bronco seat brackets for Recaros. The slider brackets from Recaro cost $200 and bolt directly into the existing holes in the floor, just had to weld them to the bottom of the Mustang seats.
Couple hours work, and a grand total of $600 invested in everything, and I have a unique look with a comfortable seat. Now all that's left is wiring the seat heaters in the seats with a switch and should be good to keep my wife happy when we're driving in the evening without the hard top on.
I have the rear seat from the Mustang, also, but it's much too wide to fit my rear bench. Dropping that off next week with an upholstery shop that is going to match the pattern from the front buckets onto the rear bench.
Hopefully just giving someone some extra thoughts and hope that there are more options out there than just the Factory or Recaros.
