Rampage Top!!!

All I have time to say at this point is that my Rampage Top is one ill fitting piece of crapola!!!!!! It makes me want to go on a rampage!!!!!!

Who ever said installing a top will fit like a glove? I do upholstery work with my dad and soft tops take a lot of patience when trying to get them nice and tight. It takes a lot of massaging, stretching, pounding, etc to get it to fit nice and tight. I never did an early bronco top, but I can imagine your going to have to do more than just bolt it up and expect it to look great right out of the box. But in that pic it does look like it's fitting crappy

Both my bestop and Canback fit like a glove without much effort. Shouldn't be that difficult to get looking nice.

ooch...ya the back corner looks pretty puckered. Im in the market for a rampage top this spring. Id love to get a bestop but im afraid its too tall to fit in the garage. Please let us know if you get it to fit better than that first pic.

after looking at it a second time.....that's about how every bronco part I have bought fits. Its sad that we have to cut, grind, weld, beat, and drink every part into submission but like I say....that's broncoing for ya

Lets see some pics of the bows and some closeups. Looks like you may just need to make some adjustments. They are tight and a pain until they have baked in the sun a little.

I didn't have much time earlier to really vent my frustrations. Bknbronco said exactly what I have been thinking all day. It is ashame nothing fits like it is supposed too. Right out of the box they sent me the wrong drivers side front bow. Instead I had a right side rear bow without the the snaps. I was sent straight to Rampage for the replacement. Of course, they sent the same one I already had. They were supposed to have already sent another one over 2 weeks ago, but I was told last week that they haven't yet. Now I can't even get them to call me back.

So, today I got a little restless, the race was rain delayed, and I had some good weather to work on it. I took the bow they sent me and modified it to be used on the drivers side. I did this by drilling out the front side of the bow and cutting the male part of the rear bow so I could splice the 2 female together.

I had to make brackets for the door frames. The snaps don't line up on the rear bow. I don't expect it to fit like a glove, after all, it's old and out of shape like me.

I'm sure I will get it worked out, but it is just a pain in behind!!!

You're right, that does look like &^%$# Mine fits great, I did take a weekend to fit it. 5 years later couldn't be happier.

One reason it looks out of shape is that I don't have the back window in yet. I love your color combo!

Thanks, it is the parchment (off white). I think it looks good too. I think when some warm weather comes, it will fit better. I just hope someone sends me the correct bow at some point.

I had issues with the snaps fitting on the back bow too. Had to add a new snap and leave one off in the middle to make it work. But I did mine in a cold shop I will try adjusting it again in the summer.

Those snaps on the rear bow are a PITA to get snapped in place. I struggled with them but eventually got the snapped in but it wasn't easy i am gonna say.

I don't like how the front snaps to the windshield fit either. Opted to tuck them in and not put more holes where they aren't needed.

I drilled the holes and use them but I swear those snaps are not necessary. I wish now that I had not done that. %)

I don't like the rear window to tailgate channel. If it's colder than 65 out I can't get the bottom of the window in the track

I use a putty knife, to lift the bracket just off the tailgate to releases the top and window.

HUT ONE, I think it will start to come together for you, once you get the back window in. Mine's almost 5 years old now. I should be able to get a few more out of it.

Undo/release the rear top support on each side so there is no tension on the top at the rear....slide the bottom of the window under the channel....reach in on each side and 'lock' the rear supports into position and zip the window shut. It is easy as long as there is no tension on it. Reverse the process to take it out of the channel.
