I remember reading an article that says you can swap later larger diamiter f150 rear drums in if you replace the backing plates, I wish I still had the article.. I don't remember any of the specs. I was thinking of going this way on my bronco rather then swapping to disc brakes. Any info would be great! Thanks

You will need new axles or axles off of a 76-77 Bronco big bearing rear end. The offset is different on the 76-77. 76-77 bb rear end have the same 11 x 2 1/4 brake shoes that are used on F-100 and F-150. The easiest way to spot them at the mall is to look for the wide shoes (tape measure will do) and the 1/2" diameter bolts holding the backing plates on the housing. The 2 1/4 wide shoes were used for several years on pickup so they are pretty easy to find. Get everything that mounts on the backing plate and good drums if you can find them. I did the conversion a few years ago on my 72. I also have a pair of 76 axles for sale in the classified section.
