I would like to know is it worth the cost savings to weld back in cut out inserts or just go with the entire quarter panel? I would like to go back to uncut on my halfcab. Does anyone have any experience with this install?

I just recently installed a new complete rear quarter on mine. If I wanted to turn a cut EB into an uncut one, I'd replace the entire quarter instead of trying to patch it. You'll probably have to buy a complete quarter anyway, so do it right and replace the entire quarter.

I would replace the quarter panels> If you weld the cut outs in , you will warp the panels, you will, have to grind the welds(more heat to warp panels), then fill the repaired area, then prime and block sand. A lot less work to replace.

Who makes the best rear quarter panel? Are they the same gauge thickness as the originals?

x2. I tried replacing mine with cutouts and it was challenging to say the least. Just getting them to line up correctly was a pain. Different cut outs from a different year will never go in smoothly (but I'm an amateur at best).

Here's a page that has some instructions - looks a lot easier than it was though.
