rear radius arm bushings question..

Hey I am putting my frontend back on amd ob the rear radius bushings it says to put this side towards rubber, it seems like the cupped end should go around the the bushing.. any help would be great.

skinny/smaller side goes towards each other/face in. the fat/larger sides face out.
This is for the side that mounts to the frame not the axle housing.

I am sorry I was talking about the metal washers tha cup the bushings on each side of the mount..

the washers cup the bushings so the flat side goes towards the outside/bolt side.

Thanks I was confused because the washer says on the side opposite of the cup " this side towards rubber" that seemed wrong..

If you install the "cup" toward the bushing then it will limit the travel or flex of the bushing. the cup is installed away from the bushing as stamped on the washer.

The purpose of the washer is NOT to contain the bushing - it's to provide a smooth tapered surface for the bushing to expand against. But the bushing has to expand, so the tapers go away from each other. Install the washers the way it's printed on them.

well my problem ended up being that I had the front cupped washers and the po had put flat ones on the rear, I looked at my donor front and found the rear ones and figured out the are different from front..
