rearend help needed

had afunny sound when turning the tires and tore down to see cause only to find that i think i have a locker in it
my question is are the things that are on the end supost to look like this and if thisa locker or not
it was making a noise that sounded like a ratchet when you turn the yoke
any help or what am i looking at

can't tell if it is a locker or not. My guess would be factory open diff. everything else in the pics looks pretty normal to me.

when i turn the tires they both turn the same direction
my concern is the grinding looking marks on the rings in the first 2 pics

Looks like a locker/limited slip to me, the marks on the adjustment caps are most likely from someone using a punch and a hammer instead of a spanner to turn them when setting up the rear pattern. As long as the keeper (the metal tang that goes in the hole to keep the cup in place) is still in tacked u should be good. U might want to throw a pattern on those gears before u slap it back in, just to be sure its set up right.
