Removable hinges (Stainless versus Duff's)

I'm considering going to the lift off removable hinges but through search it seems there a pain to line up. Also saw Michael from Duff's post about the bushings falling out and breaking some etc.

What do you guys think about the Duff 1/2" removable (black powder coat) hinges? Same issues with lining them up? Is it worth the hassle?

Don't have to change, just thought it'd be fun without doors from time to time.

I converted my worn out stock hinges to lift off. Work great. Any alignment concerns are a non-issue to me. Easy enough to adjust whatever you use.

Yeah, thinking I want to keep my stock hinges in case I want to go back to it (and hopefully not mess them up by modifying them) aka chicken....

Gave my son stainless for Christmas last year and he loves them so far no problems . I bought the stainless hinge kit with hardware from Jeff's bronco graveyard and they are heavy duty

There's a trick to lining up the lift off hinges. However It's a pain no matter what hinges you have IMO.

We sell both the stainless and duffs and they both are a great choice. Hopefully soon the bushing issue of the stainless ones will be fixed by the supplier. In the meantime I can help you fix them permanently if the bushings work loose on you. By the way there is only one stainless lift off hinge on the market. It's not proprietary to any bronco vendor. We all buy them from the same supplier.

The stainless use a 5/16" thick pin while duffs is a whopping 1/2" this makes the duff hinge far stronger plus they're a bit cheaper. I do like some bling though and polished stainless is rust free.

Definitely tough decisions but keep in mind whichever way you go we have a trail door for both style hinges when your ready for your next upgrade.

I have the stainless lift off hinges from WH and they're Awesome! I also kept my original hinges as a spare set.

That's correct. We do sell the bolt on check straps seperately

A little late to the party here, but whats the trick? I got my doors to line up good with the body lines and what not, but theres no way in hell I can lift them off the hinges. So i'm guessing something is wrong somewhere.

If yours doors are lined up and the hinges aren't in a bind then they should lift right off. Does the door open smoothly? You could try loosening the hinge where it bolts to the door just a slight bit and wiggle slightly while lifting on the door. When the door lifts off then read tighten the bolts. I have the stainless lift offs. I painted mine though. The bushings fell out before the truck was ever driven a mile. Lol they lift off with very little effort

I got the driver side all lined up, door opened smoothly. Couldn't lift them off though, so I'm guessing something was wrong along the way.

The Duffs

Sometimes when the oilite bushing gets pressed into the hinge the tolerance is a hair tight. if you can't seperate the hinges with ease while off the Bronco then you will need to work them back and forth till they come apart. Now that they are apart you need to ream the bushings that the pin slides into. You will need a 1/2" drill bit. The trick here is to spin the bit in reverse while applying down pressure working the bit into the bushing.
