Removing paint

Someone at some time painted the center of my chrome steelie Wimbledon white. I'm pretty sure it's automobile paint. Is there a good way to remove the white paint without damaging the underlying chrome? Any paint strippers work without damaging chrome?

Lacquer thinner will work.

I've used brake fluid before with good results, it take a little longer than paint stripper.

Soda blasting. That should be a quick cheap job. Not to mention you don't have deal with scraping and dealing with all the mess.
