Removing Pitman Arm From Drag Link

I

I'm Stuck

Guest
Well I was able to remove the pitman arm from the steering box, but getting it off the drag link is proving damn near impossible. Using a pitman arm removal tool got me nowhere. Any tips on how to get it off. I've tried lots and lots of B12 Chemtool and WD40 and a breaker bar on the pitman arm tool.

Nada.

I dont have access to air tools, but I guess I could try a small gas torch and see if that helps. I hope the old WD/b12 doesnt flame back up

put the pitman arm back on the box, it will make it much easier....put some heat on it and it'll come off.

I used a hammer and tie rod fork to separate the pitman arm from the drag link...sorta... I actually broke the part of the drag link that feeds through the pitman arm away from the rest of the link. Kind of scary to think about... I must just be strong!;D Good luck!
