Replacing fuel pump gasket

I finally got my rear main to quit leaking and am ready to put an end to the oil leak at my fuel pump. I am assuming I should just be able to pull it and put a new gasket in there, but since it took 2 attempts on the rear main, I thought I would double check that there isn't anything I should be looking out for or any tricks I should know. Thanks guys; I appreciate it.

I don't think I've ever seen a fuel pump gasket leak. Check the bolt tightness. Are the bolts too long and bottoming out before compressing the gasket? Is it leaking from the oil pressure sender unit or extion tube? Oil filter? Maybe the fuel pump itself is leaking. There is a lot going on in that close space.

I know it isn't leaking from the extension or sender (fixed that recently) and the bolts are tight. How could I tell if it is leaking from the weep hole?

I had one leak from the pivot point on the fuel pump. To find leaks, I like to use a spray motor cleaner to get it clean enough to see fresh oil. Then, get the motor warmed up and lay underneith till you see it.

Fuel pump is usually less than $20. If its old I'd just replace it and a new gasket. Call it preventive maint. But just my opinion.

Good idea on replacing the pump. Anything I need to look out for? I have changed them on other vehicles without issue, but it seems like every project I touch on the Bronco turns into an ordeal so I am just looking for anything I need to be aware of. Thanks.
