Anyone use the rust bullet yet? I am thinking of ordering some this week and using it on my frame, axles, underside of body and body floor. Any thoughts? Rust bullet seems easier to apply and dosent fade. Wach u think?

Not the same product at all. I have used both. I jumped on the Rust Bullet bandwagon when I first heard about it. It is a much simpler process. However......it doesn't work nearly as well in my experience. Chips/flakes off easier, and it doesn't seem to "contain" the rust. I have had rust come rear it's ugly head through the RB.

I have never had problems with POR, however. It is one more step in the application process, but it works so much better in my experience. POR 15 all the way for me.

You guys kill me. This pops up ever so oftern on here at CB. I have used the rust bullet and know others that have and have never had an issue with it.

I have used it all over my rig and never had an issue, but as was mentioned it is not a paint, it's a rust converter. If there is not rust present, it will just peel off.

I haven't tried Rust Bullet, may give it a shot.

I used POR15 on my front axles, and hubs, still looks really nice except at the lift points on the carrier.

My boss used some Chasis Black from Crow Burlingame (sp?), and I really liked the finish on it better than POR15. It looks and feels like it's a little harder when cured. Also, they had a peice of sheet metal coated with it and you could bend it and it didn't chip or flake off. You do have to top coat it though.

You lucky ducks in Arkansas must get the good batches. ;) :) I used both and I'll never use Rustbullet again :p . POR15 for me or plain paint. Yeah, this topic is a deja vu!

I can only add that I've had excellent results with both. However, I tend to use rust bullet more often when there is a lot of pitting involved.

Basically I noticed POR is great and allows for some less than sterile applications, where Rust Bullet needs a clean metal surface. .... sorry to beat a dead horse.

Never used POR, but I coated some rims with RB and after a year I can see the signs of rust color forming again.

I've got both on my rig and neither have failed yet. I sampled the RB on the rusty tops of my door hinges to try it out 3 years ago. Still looks very new and better than the powder coated rear bumper I might add (but I think the JD rear prerunner bumper flexes too much even with only a 33").

Mark,

actually I used it in South Carolina, Missouri and now here in Arkansas. It is the same can though. I too only use it on pitted areas.

POR-15. End of discussion.
4 years on the frame, axles and underbody and no rust anywhere the POR went on.
If you want to have your Bronco looking good in 15 years, any extra time spent on POR prep is well worth the time and effort.

Where to purchase?

Just wondering where are you all purchasing your POR from. There used to be a link on the site but it is now just rust bullet. Also I think you could get a 10% discount from the POR site. Need to get some to work over Christmas break
