Scott Drake Valve Cover Fitment Issue

I did a search and couldn’t find my answer. Just purchased the Scott Drake Bronco Script valve covers. Passenger went on smoothly, but the drivers side seems to not line up with the holes on the block. I suspect the baffle for the oil fill is limiting the covers from going farther rearward. Anyone else have this issue? A fix?

When I installed similar valve covers the drivers side hit a bolt that attached to the firewall throttle bracket. I had to take the bolt out and install head side to engine bay. Took me a while to figure out the issue. It was only about 1/8 inch difference.

Yeah, I checked that. Nothing was touching the cover. After a couple of hours, I really think it’s the baffle inside the valve covers limiting the cover from moving farther rearward. I gave up and put an old set I had on. Hopefully WH will take them back.
