sheet metal bikini top photo request

Thinking of cutting some sheet metal for my son's family cage to be used in place of his bikini top. The cage already has tabs from front to back to attach the metal cover to. I have seen this done on a WCB rig on their site but is also has a large roof rack attached. If anyone has pics of a sheet metal or diamond plate suncover/bikini top on their early bronco I would greatly appreciate it!

Here's a crappy pic of mine from my build thread. I really like it, its tree proof and if I wind up using my cage it will help keep stuff from poking me in the head. I also put a bead of silicone between it and the tubes, so its really quiet, no flapping or drum effect either. makes a nice snipers roost coyote hunting too;)

Thanks. That is what I was looking for. I wasn't sure if the bends from the windshield back would look good, but yours answers that question. Looks like aluminum? I like the hunting platform as well. That can come in handy with some of these SoCal kooks!

Thanks. I was wanting to bend the front the other way so the bolts would be hidden underneath but the shop that bent it for free couldn't bend it past 90 degrees. Yes it's aluminum it's 1/8" thick. I have no idea what the alloy is. It also makes a nice windshield brace.

Rusted if you are going to do like Yeller was talking about and bend it to hide the bolts then order some 6061 T-3 alum sheet. 7075 T-6 is very strong but too brittle to bend that much. Also if you ever were to get a crack or gash in it you can weld 6061 easily. The 4 digit number signifies what type of alloy and the T- number tells you how much heat treat or rolling it had ..ie.. the hardness..

saw a cool plastic one

DLish, who's in the plastics biz, made a really slick one for his cage. Looks great. I think he even routered it to allow plastic side windows to slide in place.

Maybe he'll see this post and put up some pics?
