Does changing the original color of my bronco decrease its value? I have heard it both ways. I don't think it decreases the value as long as it is a quality paint job.
I wouldnt say it decreases the value. Because basically if it needs a paint job it needs a paint job so at that point even repainting the orginal color will still be a repaint. The only real added value would be a orginal bronco with orginal paint which there are very few of. Even then its only value would be to a true collector of vehicles in original condition. Depending on the color I like original colors. I plan on repainting my 73 its original color.
In my opinion It does not effect the value. When I buy a Bronco. I do not even look at that. Im looking at the over all condition of the Bronco. I would paint it whatever color your heart desires.
It affect's the "soul" of your Bronco. It can go both ways. If the bronco likes the new color, it will not hate you. However you can never go wrong with the original color. It's what the bronco is used to. Your taking a risk with a color change.

Thanks for the replies. My Bronco still has its original paint, but it is looking rather rough. My father purchased the Bronco when I was 6 years old in 1973. I still remeber him and my older brother cutting the fenders out. It is has been kept stock except for the fenders. I will probably go back with the original color (ginger). Thanks again.
I'm kinda partial to ginger also, my 72 was ginger w/ white top, and my 73 ranger was originally ginger with an all black repaint (still had ginger dash and interior, looked nice with the black, believe it or not). My wife however says, "Ewww...it's BROWN". Go figure%)
My 75 is a great gun metal grey, but when I do the frame off it may go back close to stock. It was that metallic emeral green. Think I will punch up that stock color with bigger flake etc. Like Stacey David did with Copperhead.
Is there a site anywhere to go to and see what a bronco in factory color looks like? Mine is pebble beige, would like to see what it would look like repainted, mine has the 43 year fade!
I think my 73 wants to go back to the original orange. The dark blue is just too dang hot for down here. Maybe that's why it keeps eating wheel bearings. I'm sure it's the color change the PO did....not the waist deep water I drive through...
