thinking i want to exit my exhaust out of the side of the tub behinde the rear tire. i have heard that this cuts down on the exhaust turbulence and helps keep exhaust out of the inside. any picks out there? thanks

Here's a pic of mine. I also have 2" body lift, so the tail pipe is over the frame. The rock rash has been accumulating over time. ;)

Mine exit just below these in the pics, zero exhaust smell, top on or off. Mine turn down at the tips is the only difference.

Mine used to exit in front of the rear wheel, if the tip sticks out past the tire, there was no fumes. That exit location kept getting crushed between the tire and rocks. As I kept cutting the smashed tip back, I started to get fumes inside. So I move it to the rear, no fumes and it's a little more protected, but it still takes hits. Here's how it was. In our group we're not allowed to run turn down exhaust. Kind of a gentleman's agreement.

Turn downs make massive dust out on the trail. It sucks to follow a guy with turn downs. Your more than welcome to wheel with us, but you might be asked to be the "tail gunner".

Never thought about that, but then again, I'm no gentlemen.........just a scholar. :) JK I've also wondered about the increased noise bouncing off of the pavement with the turndowns as well.
