Hey guys, just wondering if anyone else has dealt with this issue. When I got my bronco, some had stolen then sideview mirror and screws. I bought a replacement mirror from a company in so cal. This mirror came with plastic mounting retainers and screws. The screws were different than the ones for the stock mounting. I then bought the mirror mountin kit from jbg. These screws are different too.

Here's the problem
1. I don't know the original screw size
2. The original mounts in the door turn, not easily but they definitely aren't tight
3. I can't figure out how to get the original mounts out of the door.

Any help would be appreciated.

Just bumping this up because I didn't receive an answer. Does anyone know how to take the old mirror mounts out of the door or the bolt/screw size of the stock ones?

The inserts in the door are nut serts, they install like you do pop rivets but use a special gun. When they get loose they will spin in the door. You can carefully drill the top off of them and they will come out. Most body shops have the tool to install them. I think the size is 8-32.
