single speaker options

Just ordered the new retro sound receiver from Crutchfield, expecting it this week. In the meantime I have been considering my options for speakers. I've heard a lot about modern single speaker setups for old cars and how they make good sound without the need to cut holes all over the body panels. Was wondering if anyone has had any experience or opinions regarding them. I did an NV3550 swap and was planning on installing the speaker underneath the dash on the top of the transmission tunnel.

Dual Voice Coil

You can put one speaker behind the stock dash speaker location. This one is too big, but you get the idea:

Retrosound doesn't make a 5.25" so you'll have to improvise.

Cheapy version that should be closer to the stock grill size:

You will have to put spacers between the back of the dash and the speakers because almost all dual voice coil speakers have 2 tweeters that stick out past the cone and mounting flange.

Custom Autosound makes dual speakers that fit into single-speaker locations in vehicle dashboards.

The don't specifically have a Bronco application, but perhaps if you call them with the dimensions of the space behind the speaker grill, they'll have one for another vehicle that would work.
