I've just rebuilt my '74 EB with 302 and headers and I'd like to take it to the Santa Monica, California AAA (triple A) to register and plate it. Am I gonna run into a TON of problems with smog testing and registration? Any advice? Thanks a Ton.

You won't run into any probs. In Caly, it's only vehicles 1975 and newer who have to worry about smog tests. That includes me and my '77.;D ;D
All you have to do is walk in, pay the fees, and it's registered.

Technically you are still required to meet smog requirements for the year of your vehicle. It is just exempt from being tested.

That is unless you get caught in one of the new roadside smog checks and don't have all the stock smog equipment and carb on it. If it is 66 or newer and it shows up as dirty when you pass an infared system then you get to go get it smogged at a test station. Exempt means you no longer have to have the biannual test or have it tested when you change ownership. You still need to have all the stock equipment (home in a box incase you get caught)
