This all started about 2 months ago. I have a ZF with the internal slave. It began with the clutch feeling funny, checked the fluid and s###, it was low. I have had a ZF for over15 yrs and love it. In the few times the trans has been out I have always replaced the slave with a new one because with my luck it will start leaking the next day if I don't. Well, the one in there is only 1.5 yrs old and leaking.

OK fine!! new clutch this time as well. Of coarse while I'm under there today starting the replacement I notice the rear 9" housing has taken a good hit from a rock and has a pinhole leak at a weld. The pinion is also starting to weep. OK no biggy, its in my shop I'll whip it apart too and fix the leaks. Well that's when I find that one axle doesn't just slide out. Its actually binding in the splines. Crap, that means the housing is probably bent. Yep, when I put in my axle housing alignment tool one side is out by .250" So, tomorrow is clutch replacement and housing straightening day. This should be fun with a trussed housing.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining ......I'm just remembering all the fun I had getting it this way. ;D;D;D;D;D

Gary, you must have been getting some air time this past summer! Nice.

IMO, you have one of the nicest Bronco's out there. Had the chance to see it in person at the AZ Stampede a few years ago. Can't wait to see the fixes.

Sounds like you've got some repairs in order for that poor housing of yours, Gary! You'd better never let Capt. AirTime drive your truck ever again :).

All of the wear and tear has come from my commute to work!!!

I have been working out of town,250 miles. Every trip out I have been checking out the wheelin. Found some awesome places to camp. Even drove right to the peak of a 6500' mountain. It used to be a microwave station location, beautiful 30+mile 360* views and no damn camera. There is snow there now, so no return trip until next summer.
