I ordered one of made4you's carept kits of ebay, fantastic fit very well made hemmed on all edges. Anyway his kits come with heavy jute for the front seat area and firewall. In addition, I was able to score some fabric from my neighbor who works for some Japanese company who supplies Subaru with interior parts. Anyway the first layer is a material with a padded back, the second layer is a rubberized material with a padded back, and the heavy jute upfront. It has been a pain in the butt putting down all three layers(four upfront), but I am hoping this will be good fix for making this rig a little more quiet. Now if JBG will get my hold down kit delivered, i'll be back in action.

Anything, will be an upgrade over the roll on bed liner the PO put in, I will say however he put it on thick!!! Here are some pictures..

I plan on doing the same thing this Winter as soon as I get all my leaks taken care of. I'd rather not have moldy carpet.

Did you have any difficulty fitting the carpet over the extended tunnel cover for the 3 speed shifter?

I was considering ordering one of these but I have the exact configuration with the tunnel cover extension and when I asked him he said it needed to be custom fit and that the carpet would be either too small or not fit quite right.

I'm just curious what your experience was with this?

Thanks in advance!

Clean rig. Hopefully all of those layers help out in the sound department. Is there any reason you didn't lay down somethin like Dynamat first since sound is one of your primary concerns?

I sometimes delude myself that I could keep carpet dry inside my Bronco...then I wake up.

You know the second layer is solid rubber on the top, I am hoping that will act as a barrier and like I said it has a ton of bedliner rolled in the tub. But the main reason is all of the stuff I used was free except the carpet and hold down kit.

As far as the carpet fitting, I just measured a guesstimate cut 3in x 3in X in the carpet and it slide right over, seems to tuck up nice and tight, I think I had a little wiggle room, because I have cut around the roll cage on the opposite side. But i think the made4you guy is a perfectionist, the cover really only bumps it a little bit...

No worries. you got my hopes up for a couple of minutes there;). Unfortunately mine is welded in although I've considered buying another tunnel cover to use as a patch to cover the offending area. Cheaper than custom...

Thanks!

Here is the finished product, I still need to do a little trimming around cage. I gotta tell you the made4you carpet is spot on, however the JBG carpet tie down kit is weak. It is nice brushed aluminum but it you have torque a screw to hold down some extra padding it would go right through the tie down, I had to use washers on the front tie downs. Oh well, tomorrow new weatherstripping!
