still trying to dial it in

Well I've been trying to dial my Bronco in for a while, The issue I have that I can't seem to get rid of is at low speeds once heated up it runs poorly , will die if you are in stop or start traffic, if it doesn't die it splutters mild backfire or some sort of vapour lock? not quiet sure what it is,

It runs excellent on the hwy, recently drove 100 miles not a hiccup in 80*-90* weather , but once I slowed down in around town traffic it starts to run crappy.

It has a rebuilt 2 barrel 2100, new wires well basically everything new including rad and high flow 180* thermostat. With a thermo gauge I can see that the rad etc isn't going over 190*

My question is , is there an electrical component under the hood that may cause any of my problems once it gets hot? It has an aftermarket ignition box not sure what brand but looks similar to original mounted on the firewall to the right of the power steering booster.
Sorry for the long post Any help would be appreciated.

Could be a ignition issue. Might want to get a back up ignition module see if it makes any differance. Id also look at the dizzy real close make sure the wires into the pickup are in good shape and make sure the advance is not sticking.. Might want to double check the timing maybe you have slightly to much initial.
About the only other thing you can do is try adjusting the carb when its fully warmed up and starting to have issues. Actually almost all adjustments ignition and carb should be done when fully warmed up

thanks Ive just been reading more about the module , I'm thinking it may be the culprit I think it may be in a spot that is getting too hot?
It has new wires and just checked the timing last week it was 11* and advanced with vacuum under load , The mechanic that checked the timing said that was correct?

Timing should be ok but each engine is different. Id start with the module first maybe even just moving it may be a good idea first they dont like heat.
