Stock Mechanical Fan Setup

I'm trying to get back to a simple setup, a while back I was comparing mechanical to electric fan setups, and I think for now mechanical is the way to go, being simple and reliable it should work well until I decide to do something else. I need to get on the road so I can take on upgrades one at a time.

I have no stock fan elements now, the PO had a dinky electric fan as the whole cooling system. It works but I don't like it, would rather just get something I know will work and not worry about failing.

I'm trying to acquire parts, and I'd like to get close first time. What are the constraints I really need to check on? Fan thickness, diameter, and such that will fit in a stock fan shroud?

I have about 2.75" between my water pump pulley and the stock radiator.

I'm thinking an 18" diameter X 1.5" deep fan. (Might need a spacer.) And a stock fan shroud (I have no body lift) Does that sound like it will work?

Thanks.

Here's the simple setup, keeps the engine at a constant temp year-round. Ambient temps swing between ~20* - 100*.

Spacer = 13/16"-7/8"
Fan is ~1-1/2" away from the rad
Blades are 1-1/4" away from the shroud
