As far as I'm concerned, the stock mounts are junk the way Ford designed them...no positive stop, only the rubber holding things together. Solid mounts are cheaper but have a nasty habit of breaking the block bosses when used in hihg-flex situations like a trail rig..they are only OK for drag racing applications and even then have been known to break a block..don't ask me how I know that. %)

Mounts

Hey BroncoMark, I can't comment on the proformance yet because my rig is not on the road, but I to have a high HP small block and I was wanting the best mount possible. And I think I got it. The construction of the mounts are very heavy duty. They are easy to take a part and paint and install. I know that there are several members on the board running this mounts. I believe they are worth the money. 69sport

Thanks for the responses so far. I used to see these for sale on Ebay all the time for $119 Buy it Now. I haven't seen them for awhile. Any cheaper places to get these?

I'm using the same motor mounts. I bought them from WH, but they're the same. Easy to install and great peace of mind. I had one stock motor mount going bad and decided to go the overkill route with these. I don't know about JBG, but mine came unpainted.

One issue that you will want to consider is that it raised my engine about 3/8", so if you have clearance issues you might want to reconsider.

I am using the Ebay $119 (Driven Auto Parts) ones on my 393. I didn't consider the stock ones when doing my engine build. If one of the stock mounts break you can more than likely say bye to your radiator. One thing to consider is these mounts will make the engine sit a little higher.

As previously mentioned these xtreme motor mounts are gnarly. I got mine from the ebay special and they also came unpainted but are easliy separated for painting with whatever you choose. The peace of mind for my 393 is worth the price.

You can also get HD motor mounts from NAPA for a F150. They have a safty pin built in them to prevent seperation. About $25 for the pair.

I ended up with the heavy duty stock type with the safety pin. So far it has held my blown 5.8L ~650ft/lbs torque....

Wow. I'm surprised you guys don't know about turnbuckles. You buy them at the hardware store for five bucks and install just one on the driver side front of engine to frame. Just tighten it enough to keep the engine from moving when you rev it. WORKS LIKE A CHARM ! Usually use one of the bolt holes in front end of head and go down to the frame. You will never have mount issues again even with a broken mount ! :)

Any particular year to ask for? I'll check into that.

The Napa factory mounts for the Bronco are through-bolted; I believe the F150 mounts raise the motor a bit.

Chain does wonders to hold down an engine as well if you can get it the right length.

I think I asked for 93 F150. But I am sure they are the same for range of years.

LOL...You are correct....had one on my Mustang.

With all the power steering / hydroboost garb on that side of the engine I decided to get the extreme mounts...of course they come with an extreme price compared to a turnbuckle, but when you consider the overall spending the extra $100 goes under the radar.
