I have a broken, what looks like a push-pull cable that is marked Throttle mounted on the left side of my dash. It looks just like the heater control cables. Is it possibly a throttle up cable for PTO? Does anyone have one they might would like to sell?

I have the same cable but mine is marked choke. i have a auto choke so i was thinking of converting it to a manual throttle to help with starting when the motor is cold but not cold enought to choke it correctly. When do you use yours?

Yes, it's a hand throttle for the PTO. I had one on a 69 I used to have. WH's replacement chock cable should work - just use your bezel marked Throttle.

Any chance someone has some pics of how that works? I'd really like to hook it back up, I recently came across a Koenig PTO winch set-up. I am also looking for a shifter assy for the winch.

Thanks for the great image, I just went and checked and its all still there. The cable is even still hooked up, appears to just be frozen. Was this a factory or add on option? Its probably been changed but there is no PTO on the trans or t-case. Would this throttle set-up been part of the Koenig winch option?

I had the same throttle cable on mine. Although it was really touch, it was nice to have for 4lo.

I found these cool twist lock throttle cables at a garage sale. Pull out and turn to lock. I figrue they were for a stationary motor or a tractor.

The throttle cable was not just for PTO equipped Broncos. I've had them on two over the years and neither of them appeared to ever have a PTO. I've always used them to help warm up on cold morning when my choke wasn't working correctly. Hold the RPMs up for a while and let 'er rip.

Uninstall the cable from the floor bracket. If the cable is bent on the end, straighten. Then pull the cable out. Clean and straighten all the kinks out of the inner cable. Lube with graphite and re-install.

It should work great.
