went over to start the bronco yesterday for a few minutes, the paint is now starting to peel on the hood bigtime! it's the top coat and clearcoat, so it's not bare metal. i've been kicking around the idea of camo for a while now, guess it's time to buy some cheap paint and camo the ol bronco. i'll post pix when i get power back at my house.

That is the only way to screw up a Bronco that i know of. I hate them when they are camoed. To each theyre own.

x2 I'm not a big fan of camo either. Takes away from the lines of the bronco in my opinion. :(

Isn't that the idea of camo? to hide the body lines?
I agree that camo is not my first pick on a paint job, and I've seen some pretty bad jobs (ie- using leaves for a stencil, like maple leaves and marijuana%) ) but done nice it isn't too bad. Check out some military sites or an army surplus store for some actual designs. if your gonna do it why not do it right?

side note, still no power on my side of town. using internet on the west side at a friend's hose. getting ready to go to the mall and get a burger after i wait in line 45 minutes for gas....

X3..... Camo paint jobs always make me think of an el cheapo solution to a car in need of a decent, well done paint job.......

To each their own, but for Ben to convert from the nice blue color he now has to a camo job would be a big step backwards.....

If anything, do a nice zebra stripe job like Tha Nuge!

Helped a friend spray bomb a zebra pattern on an old blazer. Looked great and was super easy to do. I know it would look great on a bronco to. Thus our hero Ted.

I think it would look tough! Go with what you want! The cheep paint job is the way to go if your going to scratch it up on the trails. Why pay 3-6k for paint just to ruin it. I like my crappy blue paint that I don't have to worry about!

You should do a digital camo. I haven't seen that yet.

Yeah, I was thinking a digital camo might look cool. But how hard would it be to do it from a spray can? If you could get a wrap done, it might look great. The new Air Force digital is nice.

Its not that hard. Just lay your lightest color as a base. Say you want an urban digital camo. Lay the gary base, then use tape to make digital pattern and spray in some white, black. Just go crazy.

I don't really like the camo look, but I do have one of mine camoed. works well for driving in brush, a good paint job doesn't get hacked up. when it starts looking too bad it's cheap to touch up.

this is what i'm talking about. every time it rains, it peels more too. as i think about it though, it camo does kinda take away from the lines of the bronco. this is the camo pattern i'd do, i did this one.

Do it! Just think of camo as primer for your next real paint job! When I was building mine (as if I am not still building it!) but before my Maaco paint job, I had a couple of different paint schemes done in different color primer. First I did a primer "Ranger" paint and then I did a Shelby Mustang "Le Mans" stripe scheme. Both just using 3-4 different colors of primer (white, black, gray, red . . .)

I think a camo paint job would look a lot better than a peeling clear coat! And if you don't like one camo scheme you can easilly and cheaply change it.
