Transmission dipstick tube thread sealing

About to install my transmission dipstick tube: use tape or goopy sealer?

Nothing needed. It's a flared fitting.

it is flared

but mine weeped a bit still. I put some pipe thread dope on pretty much any threaded item that goes into a fluid reservoir.

this is my personal opinion (soapbox), I don't use teflon tape or hardening silicones on anything where it can break away and cause issues (fuel/oil....)
