Hey guys looking for some advice . I currently have a 302 c4 dana 20 setup. Im looking to upgrade my transmission to a c6. What problems might I encounter and are there any modifications I will have to make? Is this a direct swap out.The transmission I was planning to use is out of a 1970 car. Thanks for the help.

Size matters. C6 is long so you will have drive shaft issues. There are many on here that have a lot more knowledge about it than I do and they will giveyou the lowdown.

Just curious why are you wanting to go c6. A c4 will handle all a 302 can put out.

It would but an AOD with the 4r70w internals is apparently a hot ticket.
If your going to go to the trouble of new tc mount and drive shafts.
BTW a c-4 can be built to handle plenty of horsepower.

A C4 can easily be built to handle the 408. Unless you really going to beat on it there's no reason for a C6. its 2.5in longer you'll need a adapter kit and crossmember and driveshaft mods to make it work. As was said if going through the trouble you'd be better off with a OD trans mission at least you would gain something with it.
