I have a dana 20 with a twin stick. the stick that controls the front will not go into low gear. I pulled the inspection plate and tried to force it in to low but no luck. the splines on the shaft that the gear slides on looked chipped could this be the problem? Time for a rebuild? can a dana 20 be replaced with a np 203? or is it cheaper to rebuild the dana 20? open to anything!

Thanks

are you trying to doing FWD only? Make sure you have your rear shifted into Low before you try getting the front in also.

Mine did the same thing the last time I went wheeling- I had a loud out of the ordinary pop and no more front low range. Everything else works fine- 4 high and 2 low. I didn't did into it just ordered STaK transfer case because a rebuild with lower gears was reaching the price of a new transfer case unless you can rebuild yourself.

if you've got a t-shift case, youll have to take the shift rails out to modify them.
