I just replaced my holley efi with a holly truck avenger but I am having issues with the two springs and where to place them. I actually put them in the same spot as the EFI ones but now the springs are not pulling back enough leaving the throttle open some. Here are some pics also. If I move the bracket back the kick down for trans too tight making the peddle harder to push down.

Second thing is the small transmission kick down spring just doesn't seem right even though I put it in the spot the instructions state.

Since you have no kick down rod the return spring serves no purpose. There is a threaded hole in the throttle arm that takes a screw that locks the kick down arm to the throttle arm. This eliminates the spring and bracket. There's no reason to let it interfere with the movement of the throttle arm.

The Lokar cable or the rear heater hose connection could be interfering with the throttle linkage.

A couple of other items to check. 1st make sure your choke is fully open. The throttle rod may not be adjusted properly. And you may need to shorten the springs a little if they are not pulling the throttle clsed like they should although the spring on the throttle shaft itself should close the throttle blades.

Just so I'm clear, the curb idle throttle stop is not hitting the screw (either fast idle set screw or curb idle)?

If this is the case, I'd second the throttle rod adj. If you leave your throttle rod off and restart your truck, does it idle where it should or does it not make any difference?

Also make sure your kick down cable has slack as well. I would leave both off just to eliminate, step by step, what would be causing your high idle.

You may just need to adjust your idle otherwise with the silver screw with the gold spring (curb idle). You'll notice the green throttle plate spring to the left of it.

Also make sure all vacuum sources have either been utilized or plugged.

I see Lokar cables but your bracket looks a little different than mine.
My bracket is attached to the rear carb stud and yours seems to not have your double springs stretched as far as mine.
