Found one locally that is three years old but in great shape - $350 plus he'll throw in a full CO2/Argon tank for another $50. Good deal?

Isn't that the same price for a new one at Home Depot?

I'd hold off, a little more and you can find something bigger, and new. A buddy of mine just found a Hobart 175 for $400.00 I believe at home depot. It's 220v, and a tank contract is cheap.

I think the 135 is an more expensive industrial version of the Home depot welder kit . I was told the guts are heavier duty. I have been using one for a couple of years now it is on loan from my neighbours Millwrighting company and by the looks of it its been used lots. I have had no problems with it.

Thanks guys. He tells me he's got $700 into it with the welder, tank, and gauges. He used it for sheet metal work on a car resto. It looks like it's brand new.
