Weather seals

Morning all.

I know this has been hashed, I searched a little. I bought complete rubber from LMC. I noted that when I received it, some was reboxed from Bronco Graveyard. Most was made in Asia. I installed late last summer. Door seals and vent wing rubber fit like crap. And now my vent wing rubber is splitting. Not cracking, 1/4-1/2" split. So pissed.

I bought the stuff like 2 years ago and it stayed bagged and boxed until I installed. But I am sure since I'm past the 12 point I'm SOL.

Where can I get proper seals, made with quality in the US? I really don't care about cost. The original stuff stayed 45 years. The replacement like 6 months.

Thanks, Duane

anything I have bought made of rubber cracks in about a month! Its all crap. C-bushings, door seals, firewall seals, shift boots, shift lever bushing, window seals, hood seals, tailgate rubbers, clutch fork boot, fresh air vent water drain, etc. I could go on for days. It don't matter the brand or vender I haven't had any luck with any rubber. Some will say only buy Dennis Carpenter but I have got a lot of crap stuff from them as well. Good Luck!

I don't know who to use either, I bought some from bronco graveyard, I was not happy with the fit at all. Didn't even fill the space at the front corner of the window.. They were great and let me send them back for a credit. I salvaged my originals and reinstalled them. Still going 42 years old..

I've got mostly Carpenter stuff and it still leaks like a sieve.
I need some black expanding rubberized foam to fill the gaps at the windshield, and all 0f the the other gaps.

Man. I emailed Toms because their website says their rubber supplier is new or something. I was also thinking of contacting Steel Rubber and seeing what they have.

I'll be interested to see what you find. We've gone through the same problems with LMC with my husband's truck and now we're trying soffseal. They don't make much for the Bronco, but you don't necessarily have to buy custom fit stuff with them. I've been told they'll help you find what will fit, if they don't have a custom piece. We'll see.

I'll let you know if it works out for us because I'll be turning right back around and using them for the Bronco in a couple of months.

I would think anyone who mass produces stuff will inheritently find flaws, just part of the process as not each part can be tested etc. without destroying it. That being said, I am certain Dennis Carpenters would be the first to stand behind their stuff.

I called Steele Rubber today. They have the upper and lower door seals. Made by them in the US. I called Dennis Carpenter and the larger rubber seal part of the vent window is theirs, made in the US. The rear rubber part that rivets however is from over seas.

Its not flawed stuff its just plain junk rubber that splits to hell about a week or three after you open the bag! DC stuff is just as bad as the generic stuff. I can name about $500 worth of DC stuff that ill never buy again. I doubt thed stand behind there stuff and if they did it would cost more to send it back than its worth. Besides why take off a cracked seal just to reseal it and have it crack again in a month. That's just broncoing for ya!

Rear Vent Window Seals

I know this thread is stale but I had to comment that the rear vent window seals I obtained through Tom's are unusable. I just reached out to them for guidance with no response yet but in short the metal strap the rubber has been molded to appears to have shifted during the molding process with makes them 'shallow'. The window seals unevenly while the seal itself does not seat properly in the post channel. Any updates to a better supplier for these?
