Weekend Wheeling in Gilbert, MN

After fighting a carburetor that would stall frequently on the trail, we upgraded the blue Bronco to FITech EFI. The engine stayed running but we put the Bronco on the side this time. If it weren't for the tree I probably would have been in the mud at the bottom of the hill. It seems that if anything happens its usually to the passenger side. %) Lost a little tranny fluid which ended up on the exhaust to cause the smoke out. We had to loan out our spare tire to a bad sidewall puncture and did the usual fix a Jeep on the trail. Fun weekend. Got a new tree sized dent in the fender.

That looks like a great time. And mine has never even been in the rain. I am a sissy.

I had a Jeep I abused like that back in the 80's. I just couldn't bring myself to do that to my Bronco. But it does look fun.

It helps when you buy it from someone who already put most of the dents in it. I couldn't do it to mine even though I do wheel it. Some days I take a lot of bypasses.

Roger that. Back in 07 before the restoration started mine would have been the perfect candidate for that trail. I could have driven up beside that one and fell against it like an elephant burial ground. It's too pretty now for that kind of fun.

In my twenties (oh man, in the 80's) I remember having my Jeep belly down in some really muddy muck. Wheels hanging. We were alone one night down some power line road and came to this really rutted section. Ruts were way deeper than I realized. Tried to power through and there we were, wife, friend and me on our belly's digging under the Jeep until we could get the wheels to grab. Did not have a winch on that Jeep. Finally got home around 1am. Covered in mud. Did not have the top on the Jeep and boy was it flinging some mud all over the mud we already had on us.
