Welder or body shop near Philly

Does anyone know of a decent body person/welder in the Philadelphia, PA area that may be interested in doing my rocker replacements? Because the rockers and floors are shot on my EB, my perfectly solid doors/doorposts are sagging. I'm thinking about having a more experienced person do the rockers to get the body lined up again and then I'll do the floors myself.

Does anyone know of a shop around here that's worthy of this job? Or, is anyone here interested?

Chris, Were are you located? I have a welder and a little body experiance, My truck is made up of parts from 5 trucks. Ever think about not putting the rockers back on but putting rock ski's on instead? Of course that wouldn't work if you were going for the stock look.

Chris,
I'm not far from you at all in Willow Grove. I'm in Bensalem, 1 exit down the t-pike (exit 28). I live in Bensalem. I'm lifting the Bronco but, trying to leave most other stuff stock (uncut, fenders stock rockers, etc.). I was originally planning to do the rockers and floorboards myself but, because my driver side door is sagging about 1-2" with perfect door posts, I'm concerned I may not be good enough to get it all lined up again.

I tried to find a good write up on replacing the rockers, that tells what has to be lined up and how to fix stuff that's not aligned but, came up empty. If I could find this, I may try it myself. Did you do rockers on yours?

Rocker replacement is not that hard. If you have a door sagging one or two inches my guess is that your door hinges are worn out. The rusty rocker might be a part of it but probably not two inches worth. When your door is open can you lift it up and down from the handle end ? If you send member " Blue71 " a e-mail he will send you measurements for the rocker replacement. I did have them but lost all the info off my computer.

2bad- thanks for the info on Blue71. I'm sending him a message now. Yes, I can move the door up and down from the handle side. Does this mean it's more likely to be the hinges? What's involved in fixing this?

if the hinges are bad you can do one of a couple of things. Buy new hinges ( there are two on e-bay right now ) , find some good used hinges, or Jeffs sells a kit to put bigger pins in your old hinges. If the hinges are bad , replacing the rocker won't help the whole problem.

Hey Chris, Does your house back up to the turnpike? I once saw a Bronco in a back yard along there.

Didn't have to do my rockers as they were ok. I have replaced a rear wheel well and fender assy from another truck. That was from the rocker back. I don't think it would be to hard.

Let me know if you want some help.

I highly recommend the bronz bushing repair. Just drill out the hinges with a specific sized drill bit, drive in the bushings and reassemble.

Did it on my 69 and they lasted for years, until I took them off.
