Mods , performance, and upgrades to 250 and 300s?????? I would like to know what others have done love to hear from who ever built the supercharged 200

Myself, started with 200 DUI ignition, Saginaw pump.The rings finally had enough abuse mostly by me . so I upgraded to a 250 i6 reused the DUI and Saginaw pump . I put m5r2 trans WH heavy duty radiator and motor mounts .

There is a turbo six guy here.

The 300 is loved by all here but is a bit of a bitch to fit.

Clifford performance is great for inline 6 parts.

Classic inline makes a aluminum head for the 200 and 250 for 2k .They were in the research stages of a 240 and 300 (big six) head don't know if they moved forward yet .I spoke with the owner he said they we're on hold for now due to economy but that was 2 years ago

Would be sweet to put the Aussie falcon xr6 turbo in one they can make over 1000hp and tons of low end grunt .

You gotta be an inline die-hard because the turbo 6 thing can cost more than the comparatively easy V8 swap.
But I love unique power plants. There is a guy here with the supercharged V6 from the Thunderbird SuperCoupes.

Wondering when someone is going to do the 3.5 V6 dual turbo crate motor that Ford now sells. 400+ hp and even more torque.
90% of the torque is available before 1800 rpm.
Love the modern dual turbo stuff....."what turbo lag?"....

I'm not a loud motor 5mpg kind of guy before the 250 swap I was getting 16mpg with 35s using it as my primary transportation. That was all city driving .

If you like mpg's then that New Ford dual turbo 3.5 V6 could be a hit.
It gets Uber good mileage (22 mpg) in a 6600 lb. truck, and would be amazing in our approx. 4000 lb. trucks.
The dual turbos are not really for power, they are for efficiency, but horse power is the product of this efficiency.
But the straight 6 turbo sounds interesting.....

Search YouTube for falcon xr6 they are insane I seen one run under 9 sec quarter mile . from what I understand ford austrailia can't sell our v8s they offer them just can't sell them ecoboost is a better choice because I can order one now trans adapter and computer is the hold up or else I'm sure it would have been done

I did buy a 4bt 4speed but sold it couldn't get over the weight issues used the money for the 250 swap

The owner died last year. He sons didn't want anything to do with the forum or the business. Not sure who is going to pick it up or if anyone will. A lot of things have been going downhill before his death and since it seems... there's just not enough interest to generate the sales and the time and expense put into it.

How do you like the 300 efi in the EB? I have a 89 bronco with the 300 efi and 5 speed I love it . she's got a whopping 117k miles runs so smooth

I have a, 84 Bronco with the 300 I6/NP435 combo. Awesome truck! I fabbed an adapter to mount a 2150 2 bbl carb on the stock single bbl manifold, installed the dual 4.9 efi exhaust manifolds with a super single reversed Magnaflow and ditched the "feedback" computer ignition for a Duraspark II set up. Runs very well. The single bbl manifold still probably restricts the setup some, but its way improved over the single bbl carb that was on it. Here's pics of the adapter I fabbed out of micarta.

Took my dd's 170 to the engine shop yesterday, told the guy 135-150 HP, balanced, some bowl & port work, hard valve seats. We'll see it that's enough to move the dd around with vim and vigor.

Had a 300 in my '66 Econline long body. First Dura-Spark II conversion I ever made, in 1992. Had to, setting the points down in that engine doghouse was NOT fun or easy to get right. Van got 10 MPG going 55 or 85, but it got 12-13 mpg flat towing the dune buggy.....

We put a 4.9L inline in my sons 74. Fuel injection and all. Some creative fabrication was required but overall - it is a great engine in his rig. He drives it daily now days and plays hard with it on the weekends on the SoCal desert..

Would I do it again - undecided. I am working on my 71 now, that engine was supposed to be powering it. The biggest/only reason I am hesitating is the lack of aftermarket support for it. Yes - there is some as mentioned in this thread, but nowhere the amount available for the small block V8s. That said, he loves it. Gets 15-20 MPG (driving like most young men drive) and this is with well over 250k miles on the engine. It has never been rebuilt.

I've no idea what they went thru to make it, but about 25 years ago I was standing in the staging lanes at the Winter Nationals and a 300 six powered RED was there with a cylinder head made from 3 4V Cleveland heads furnace brazed together. What caught my eye was the TIG welded together gold ano'd (except for the welds) Moroso rocker cover. Wish that I'd taken a pic. No idea where they were out of.
