I'm looking to get the correct color code for the silver grill for the sport style grills? Also I'm thinking of changing my 71 front blinker assemblies to the 66-67 style blinker assemblies. Will 66 blinker work with my 71 grill?

Thanks for your help!

Hi and welcome aboard. There are a lot nicer silvers out there than the factory color. Wish I could help you out with the factory code but I can't. As for the lights. The grill itslf is different. The old style grill the lights fit inside of it and on the newer grills the lights sit over the outside of the grill. The lights themselves have studs that fit through holes in the grill because they are bigger than the older lights. I'm positive you can buy clear lenses for the new style lights instaed of the yellow lenses. Try Jeffs.

My silver is just a color I made and it looks fine

you can replace the newer style signal buckets with the early style signal buckets for the recessed look with little modification. You will just have one exposed hole on each side that isn't very noticable or weld it up. Here are some '67 buckets in the '70 I restored...

when I looked up the argent silver code for my '76 sometime back
autocolorlibrary.com showed ditzler code 8568. I just pulled up the
colorchips for your '71 year and that has a different code, DX-8555.
ask your paint supplier to crossreference those codes into
whatever paint system you're using and see if they sorta match
what you're looking for.
