Lot of good responses, thank you. I am doing this project for an elderly couple that purchased in the mid 70’s and have a lot of memories with it. He had mentioned that he want to make it mechanical sound and maybe cosmetic. He plan is to maybe sell in future to help pay for their L/T care.

I guess my original question should have been, should it be painted original color or a color that they like?
Does he want to drive it and enjoy it for a while, or just wants you to get it in good running and appealing condition to sell?

It's almost always true with any classic or special interest vehicle and like most have already stated, just dust it off! The more money you spend on it, the less you will make in the end.

All of the original sheet metal was retained, even the bent fender and grill. It was just straightened and with minimal paint work.

PPG concept single stage was $1200. a gallon 5 years ago.
I just called a local PPG vendor (more expensive vendor, not my go to dealer) and was informed that the PPG Concept single stage line has been discontinued. Other option is the Shopline single stage which is not so great.
I like easy touch ups with single stage paint since we abuse our rigs.
Now my only options is going pretty with base/clear.
3 quarts of each base and clear with reducers and hardeners.
$2100. - $2500. depending on pigments.
