I'm right there with you. It will be 7 years for me in August. From 98-01 I was still in college so not much progress then. Pretty much only been working on it for the past 4 years but not hardcore. Usually just weekends. Ahhh if only I could get a paid year off from work ;D

Well how about sept of 96. I have dated pictures starting in jan. 97. You know one of those 6 month jobs that was to be a fast rust repair with a good basic paint job and quicky engine rebuild, something I could go out in have fun and not worry about all the money and time I had into it.
But then I had to weld up the whole body inside and out, then build a custom all steel hood with a 59 t-bird hood scoop, custom dash, custom roll bar and a whole lot more. After paint and then sitting in storage for 14-16 months, build a new shop for final assembly, but thinking back I only work on it in the begining on saturdays and running short on money somewere in the middle causes things to take longer but its making progress and its all final assembly now and a fewwww thousand more dollars.

I'm at eight years also like Michael Welch.
I call it "project infinity" ;)
Since I tore it down and started it, I started a business, built a house, got married, had a boy, all these things take time, plus I suffered from burnout at times. I have the frame all POR15, the axles and linkage all rebuilt and POR15'd, a donor body tub sand blasted, primered and sitting on top of my pretty frame. On the underneath of the "new" tub I have it all POR15'd with their "white cote" and a glossy finish. I need to put a wiring harness on it, connect everything together, and paint it. Not too far really. But a lot of work in itself plus other projects non eb related and a "honeydo" list you wouldn't believe! ;D
I have a couple pics at my website www.marktroy.classicbroncos.com
Thank God I have a 2nd EB as my daily driver. ;D

I going on about 7 years also. The thing is I have a 77 daily driver to use so that kinda slowed things down. Plus all my other projects.

I started in 92 with a 73 bronco sport, body was severely shot however I drove it for ten years, moved on to a 72, from there a 75 Bronco Northland Special, to a 66 half cab, and then to a 76 roadster. Since September 2004, I planned to start with just a frame and the 76 running gear. Now a 70 half cab has entered the mix. I've kept some parts from the above broncos to add to the project.

Man, I thought I had it bad. Ive had mine since Nov 2001. I drove it around in the fields here a quite a bit before I tore it down, but thats not "on the road" Sad thing is, Ive probably got another 2-3 before its back on the road again.

Have had my '71 since 1984. I have driven it less than 1000 miles since I bought it. It has been torn down, rebuilt, changed around, upgraded and generally fooled with more time than I care to admit. I call it my therapy. It keeps me from yelling at the wife and kids or kicking the dog. And yes I have gotten burned out on it a few times, but I have to admit I have loved every minute. :) :)

I pulled mine into the garage back in 1996 to fix the dented front end and finish up the Ford EFI install, I ended up buying a new house, very high maintenance with a smaller garage, I've been hitting the Bronco it pretty hard in the last year so I expect it to done in a month or soooooooooooo.

I bought mine four years ago and probably put 50 miles on it before I began my frame-up. This is the only EB I have ever been in.............I need to get mine back together so I can just see what it is like to actually ride in one. Maybe after our house gets built (60 more days) I can get started on it. I have been buying parts over the past 6 months just can't work on it because it is in storage with house stuff stored all in it and around it. I hope to have a busy spring getting it road-ready.

Man I feel so oooooooo much bettter now!!!
I bought mine in Fall 01 and worked on it til it was on the road for it's 30th Bday in 12/01
Drove it til about July 02 and it has sat since, a couple of bad radiators led to several head gasket failures and after the last one it sat and waited til I could afford a good rad.
I got one from Chuck in the mass buy but by that time the wedding was on and it was off to the races.......
I found a great deal on a 5.0 and decided to just swap that in instead of fixing the old 302 yet again...............
Might as well put in a clutch while it is out....might as well do the NP435 if I am doing a clutch, might as well do gears if I am doing the tranny, might as well do new drive shafts , if I am gonna do drive shafts better lift it now...if I amgonna lift it I needs new tires, new tires means new brakes, new brakes heck might as well have power steering, ps heck might as well do hydro boost, heck hydro boost might as well do a redneck ram, heck gonna do that .................ad nausem....................
SO I have been buying parts ever since. On no budget, I might add, so I get cut CLEAN off sometimes.......
Now I am looking for that elusive deal on a nice set of broken in 3 1/2" leaves......
Chris
Thanks for the boost!

I bought mine in the summer of 00, swapped in the 5.8 after about a year, used at as DD for a year driving about 100 miles a day. Ended up getting a new car for work, and haven't really driven it much since (just around the block every couple weeks to keep it kinda lubed). I am moving into a new place though, and got a replacement frame, so I'm planning on using my new garage to start my frame up I've been planning. Yeah right, let's call it what it is, I'm going to start my buy-more-pretty-new-parts-and-test-fit-them-but-never-actually-install-everything buildup ;D

I might be the leader on this one...
I started mine just before my first child was born. She just turned 16...(yikes) My priorities fell apart I put my family first :)
I finally got a plate on it and took it for a ride at the end of last summer. I'll try to paint it this summer. However... now that everything has changed so much over the years my "wish" list has grown I'll end up re-doing a bunch of things.
