last month, I was staying up late to research trailer wiring. i came upon a post by someone with a slightly lifted softtop with stock rims and f-100 hubcaps from 50-60's? they were perfect. but i can't find the shot again. anybody seen it? the hubcaps fit the front hub, were chrome, slightly dished, covering only the inside, and i think they had ford in script/cursive in red around in a ring, twice. i will not rest until i locate these, until something else breaks that is- you know how it is.

I don't know if this is the one you're looking for, but this is one I've always liked.

There have been at least three that are close to what you descibe

One is a ralley wheel with ralley hub caps. Really looks nice andis availible from several manufacturers.

One is commonly called a "dog dish" hub cap. Ford used them of mostly cars like the galaxy 500 in the early 60s.

The other is commonly called a t-bird cap but it was also used on trucks in the late 50s and early sixties.

I like all three. I think they look better than the 80s truck hub which is common and the stock "volcano" cap which is what I think is on the green bronco above. I can't tell they don't look stock.

I went on ebay and just did a search for ford hub caps. Lots of cool old caps on ebay cheap.

t-bird

Ford used these on tbirds, trucks and other cars. Even though I have seen them on a 4WD truck I do not believe ford ever put them on a 4WD. We cut them with a lathe. I bought 10 caps in three seperate auctions for less that $40 including shipping on e-bay.

cool caps

I think those are from some late fifties ford trucks and some cars. It so hard to tell. When I was a teenager in the late seveties we were taking these caps and using them on our falcons, pintos, mustangs etc. So i never knew what they were from.

YOU GUYS ROCK! I can't believe the response!

I think the one's I was after was the one on the red with top off pass side/rear view, toward the end. I think I can locate these. There is an old lady in CA who has fields of hubcaps who says to send her photos and she'll find em.

I'll post pics of options since I am clearly not the only one who cares about my hubcaps. Thank you, guys- alot

I found them on ebay

Where can I get these hub caps?

Just go on ebay motors and search hubcaps and ford you may have to scroll through a lot of caps but you will find lots of cool old caps.

When I bought the t-bird caps there were at least three or four people selling the dog dish caps.

They are just a truck ralleye wheel. Several manufactures sell them in full chrome, chromed rim/painted center, and painted whell like the ones in the pictures. American racing makes several choices.

makin it work

I just installed ford truck '77-80 something dish hubcaps and will be searching for the old ones you all sent photos of. This is definitely not my favorite thing, but for some reason, I like it better than plain wheels till I find dog dish cap. I thought I would post since these are easier to find.

Thank you for all of your help out there.
