SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Yeah, WE bent the bottom trim rail on my Bronco last night re-installing it.

The other four popped right back in with some jiggling and soapy water. I don't know my own strength and when putting in the lower rail in; I bent the rear attachment portion which in turn as I moved down meant the rest wasn't going in and now I have a bow in the piece starting at about 5/8ths of the way starting from the drivers side. It sticks up about 2-2.5" inches off the seal at the end of the passenger side.

How bad have I messed up?

I'm under the assumption that the seal is just smushed (technical term) over time tightly in the middle, I missed with a jiggle and it bent the attaching rail that should have slipped in. Then as I moved a few inches down; I only made the problem worse and eventually the boy said something as it moved in his hands.

I pulled it off and have all by pressed/pinched the inner rail into the trim.

Is it ruined? Can I try and bend it back straight (the attachment point) so that it at least goes into the slit? I'm not going to be able to make a nice radius like it formerly had. How do I remove the bend? Heat? Long, light pressure between boards?

I've thrown up some parts wanted ads and found just that piece on ebay (but at $100 w/ship for one piece means I'll just buy the kit at $195).

Help me out here. I need some guidance and counseling.

As we all know, we're always one hand slip or stuck bolt on a 20 minute project from a 3-day ordeal. %)

I thought they say the best way to get that trim on is to put it on the window gasket before roping it in?

And it is, but I didn't have a new seal. Trying to keep the old one and patch a small tear in the corner.
Tried to reinstall it on the old one. 4 went on without incident, the 5th, yeah, well.

Life happens. I didn't think it would go this bad. It wasn't perfect to start with; so I wasn't worried about it staying perfect.

I'll snap some pics tonight.
Probably going to get out some long board and clamp it back straight and leave it in the attic for a few days (heat and cool cycles up there) and see if it straightens back out.
