Installed new c4 . Problems followed

Installed new c4 to ne Blueprint 306. I bought the transmission with flexplate and TC to insure everything mated up. Put 1 qt of fluid in TC and mated you to transmission. Got TC fully seated then mounted transmission to engine. Lined up TC to flex plate, pulled it forward then bolted them...

    Windshield hinge rust

Had my Bronco painted recently and noticed there is quite a bit of rust around the windshield hinge. There was supposed to be a stainless hinge installed during paint but apparently a steel one was installed instead. Now the hinge is rusting. Good thing I’d the hing was secured to the body via...

Issues with C4 and new Blueprint 306

So this is the 4th time, and 2nd torque converter , that I have bolted up to my new BP 306. Each time the engine will warm up and a noise will continue to get louder from the bell housing area. I checked the bolts and internals around the tC and nothing is scraping. I initially thought it was...

    Transmission fluid change out

Had to drop the pan to fix a small crack and change to a new dipstick from Toms. When I pulled the pan I only got 3.5 qts of TF. I put 4 in and checked ( with engine running. It’s over the mark on the dipstick. I was expecting to get more out and use more to fill up. Do I do something wrong?

    Rough ride

So I have been battling with some issues my 76 has had for past few years. It started off with the rear end acting like it was binding up. ( I would make a turn and it would make a noise similar to a tire rubbing.) I assumed it was the third member (clutches) so I pulled it and sent it back to...

I’m putting my original valve covers on. Got a new cork gasket secured to the covers. Question is, do I need a bead of rtv between the cork and the engine?

    Transfer case noise.

Have a high pitch whine coming from by gearbox. It tends to quite not get louder depending on where the shifter is placed. I checked and fluids are good. Is there any way to remedy this or am I looking at a rebuild?

Issues when turning or backing up

Trying to troubleshoot an issue I am having. First I’ll let you know my set up. It’s a stock c4 with original transfer case and driveshaft ( I did replace the 3rd member about 2k miles ago). The vehicle has a 3” suspension lift and a 2” body lift. The issue I am having is that the drivetrain...

Considering switching to dot 5 brake fluid

I am considering switching to Dot 5 due to Dot 3 is destroying my paint. I initially thought I had fixed the leaks in my brake system only to find another by the front driver side tire. In the process it has started eating the paint off the chassis and shocks. Has anyone flushed the system and...

    First oil change after rebuild

Doing change and noticed really thick sludge around drain plug and filter was really heavy with little oil seeping out. The sludge had the consistency of axel grease. I did use a zinc oil additive when I originally put oil in. I also used the rotella on initial fill. Engine sounded fine before...

    4x4 issues

I engaged my 4wheeel drive for the first time since my rebuild and got a sound similar to metal rubbing and binding in the front end. The rig has no issues in 2 wheel drive but 4 wheel seems to be a different story. The noise occurs whether the hubs are locked in or not. Had a similar noise when...

    Addco or Hellwig

I am in the market for a front Anti sway bar. My rig is mostly pavement only with light trail use. Looking to tighten it up for rad use. I know the Hellwig is a better setup but I don't know if it is necessary for what I need it for. I don't want to spend the coin if I don't need to. Thoughts?

I know the subject has been cover all over the forum, but my question is a bit more specific. I am running a rebuilt 302 with an even torque cam in my 76.
